What’s WordPress?
WordPress is a system for managing your website, allowing users to easily update content and menu structures.
Do any big companies use WordPress?
Companies as large and diverse as The New York Times, Ford, and NASA have web presences based on WordPress. It works for them; I’m sure it can work for you.
I just need a simple site. Why should I bother with WordPress?
Websites based on WordPress can be as simple as you want to be. You can use as much or as little of its functionality as you like (I’ve used WordPress for microsites as simple as one questionnaire). When you’re ready to grow or expand what you have, your WordPress site will be ready to grow with you.
Can WordPress handle multilingual websites?
Yes, absolutely. A plugin called WPML can allow you to add as many languages to your site as you like, both for the public site and the admin panels.
OK, I’m interested. What’s the process?
Get in touch with me and let me know a bit about your project. I’ll prepare a quote for you based on whichever package we feel is the best fit for you. If the quote works for you, we’ll set up an agreement, create a timeline, and get cracking.
What rates and packages do you offer?
- By the Hour: $60 per hour
- One-of-a-kind: Starting at $5000. Your unique presence on the Web. The website you’ve always wanted, with a 100% custom design (by yours truly or another designer) built on WordPress.
- All non-profit organizations in good standing with Revenue Canada are eligible for a 20% discount.
How does payment work?
I require a 50% deposit to begin work, and the balance is due upon launch of the site. Small jobs of only a few hours will be billed in full when completed.
Can you handle configuring all of the hosting, domain and DNS stuff for me also?
Absolutely; this is included in the One-of-a-kind package, and can also be done on an hourly rate. Note that WordPress websites have certain minimal requirements, and not all hosting is equal; ask me for details (I can suggest hosting packages starting at $10/month).
